Being in the World brings together four practices attentive to how we exist socially, in physical and digital space, in private space or in public space, in our relationships to ourselves and others, and in our learning. Each artist probes the performative dimension of identity: the images we construct of ourselves, the languages we borrow, the sub-cultures we inhabit. Beneath a surface of hyper-visibility, the exhibition traces an underlying absence - asking what truly speaks when we speak, and what remains present in what we see.
